Clinical Benefits of the Trager Approach

Here are some client responses to a session:

Immediate: a feeling of increased circulation. This is often described as tingling or warmth or a sensation of bubbles in the tissue. I like to think of it as champagne….If there is increase of circulation, you can bet on the following biological changes:

  • Increased mental alertness~ more blood flowing to the brain, helps!

  • Decreased blood pressure~ In fact, my own attempt at research many years ago followed a client with moderate blood pressure problems. His blood pressure dropped after each of 6 sessions.

  • Enhanced immune function~ white blood cells are better able to reach a wound that is healing or an inflamed joint if you have less tension

  • Improved mood: a wash of serotonin that provides a lift of low energy, deep relaxation and better sleep the night of your session
